Vacation....I'm back

I meant to post this before I left for my "vacation" but I didn't find the time to do it. Just want to let my followers know that I am back and can't wait to make more cards and stuff. I got a great deal on airfare and had to take the time to go visit my family in Vermont and New Hampshire. It was a great trip! I went back to where I grew up and it is just beautiful in the New England area. The leaves are turning just this week and it will be even more pretty next week. Man, I miss it...

I will be posting some new creations soon. Like I said, I can't wait to get back to my creative arts.

Witchy Halloween

Halloween is coming up soon. I can't believe that September is half over already! October 31st will be here and gone before you know it and then....oh, I don't even want to think about the Holidays yet! I'm already thinking I have too much to do. Well, on to my card.
I pulled out my Halloween papers that I can't seem to use up and put them together with this image from Stampin' Up's set Out on a Limb. I haven't used it much so I thought it was time...I just wish I was better at coloring. I am learning but it is that time factor of not having enough to just concentrate on learning "how to."

I am trying to keep my cards with minimal embellishments so I can send them through the mail without a large postal fee. I kinda messed up on this card because I had to make a 5x5 inch to fit that large circle image on it. I like how it turned out though.

I am entering this card in the following blog challenges:
Sweet Sunday Sketch #167

Make It Monday #107-Anything Goes
Tammy's Scrapin Corner #28-Anything Goes
Simply Create Too #22-Anything Goes
Pin and Tack #1-Anything Goes - Spark Your Creativity Now!
Digi Doodle shop challenge #125-Final challenge, Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting and I would appreciate any comments that you leave!

Friendship

I made this card today for several challenges. I really like how it turned out. I always get these ideas just as I am going to sleep and I got the scallop border idea last night. Sometimes I try to write down some of my ideas. I keep a pad of paper and pen on my nightstand just for that purpose!

I am entering this card in several challenges today:
Stampin' Royalty #140-color
Divas by Design #51-theme Friendship
Freshly Made Sketches #51- sketch

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Su Punches Three

Paper: DP, soft suede, pool party, crumb cake, vanilla
Accessories: square punch, butterfly embosslit, pool party ribbon, rhinestones, scallop punch, embossing folder

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments you leave for me. They really do help me to keep creating!

It's a Birthday card...

Hi again, I am back from a week of no creativity. I was very busy with school starting and all. I don't have any children in school but my husbands' work hours changed and I started working with a Webelos den as the Cub Scout leader, and all because of school starting. It was just a busier week and I had to adjust...

So, I made this card for the Retrosketch challenge #28, and Twisted Tuesdays challenge: Make something with the one you love in mind and the Twist is to use lots of color.
I made this card with my son in mind, his birthday is on the 25th and he'll be 20 years old! I won't have any more teenagers ever again! I don't know whether to be sad or happy????

Here is the recipe:
Stamps: Word Play,  SU
Inks: black
Paper: Designer paper which has these colors-Celery, regal rose, tempting turquoise, perfect plum, and turquoise for the base
Accessories: Star punches, SU, grosgrain ribbon in turquoise, corner punch
