A quilt for my Grandson

A quilt I made for my grandson for Christmas 2020. There is a panel in the center.
It is a twin size quilt.
I cut five inch blocks and sewed them rows as you can see. I  put these pieced rows on each side of the panel. The fabric came in a kit.

The pattern was my own, inspired by other quilts, especially Bargello style quilts. It was quick to make and quilt on my own sewing machine. I like being able to quilt my own quilts. It saves a lot of my money, though I'll just go and spend my money on more fabric! Oh, I am hopeless at saving money, especially when there is a fabric store within reach!

Boys Just Wanna Have Fun!

I have two sons and they have several different interests. This day I captured them playing badminton with their Dad. They always seem to have fun no matter what they are doing. My boys like to goof around and laugh a lot! Dad enjoys spending fun time with them also. I combined the pictures with a favorite background (a picture) of some beautiful autumn trees in the area where we live.
Thanks for taking a look.

Hello Fall

This is another of my digital scrapbooking pages. I am really having some fun making these. Before now I used to struggle trying to figure out what to do. I did some research as to what other people do and it is starting to click. Eventually I will start to use up my physical supplies when I feel I know what I am doing!

I would like to add this to the following challenges:

Stuck?! Sketches- New Sketch challenge for Oct 15

Farm Boy

All digital scrapbook page. This is a picture of my husband as he goes about his chores on our hobby farm. We have about 20 sheep that he cares for. There is a mixture of ewes, lambs, and one ram. I'll have to create a page with pictures of my sheep someday. I did all kinds of texturing with the picture and the page using adjustments. I like how the stitching came out using drop shadows and embossing. It really looks like thread on the page!
I used digital items from Pixel Scrapper designers:

Play-a digital scrapbook page

I've been working on digital scrapbook pages lately and I made this one highlighting my son and my two grandchildren. They look like they are having a lot of fun just being together. I love it! Isn't it wonderful when your family is getting along and having fun vs fighting?

I used some scrapbooking supplies from Scrapbook Graphics artists:
Flergs- Smile Laugh Play and
Tangie-Confabulations; Journal Anthology9; and quidoodles

Scanner fixed and a Face!

I know it doesn't look like much but it is just a face. I did not draw the shape of the head but it is implied. What do you think? I need to work some more on mouth's and eyes for sure. It's a start though.

Technical Difficulties

Well, I haven't been able to upload any pictures yet because of technical difficulties. I will keep working on my faces but I probably won't be able to post them for awhile. If anyone is checking these posts please come back later in the month. I hope to have some faces by then. Thanks.

29 Faces in September 2016

Going to try to do this challenge in September. You try to draw, paint, sketch or create a face however you want. I am going to try all kinds of art materials to make my faces. For instance: pencil, watercolors, acrylic paint, and whatever else I have in my supply cabinet. I'll be posting my art work on my "Getting Messy with Art" blog.

New Canvas-You Are Loved

So, I am getting back into art. I was inspired to make this for a friend of mine going through a struggle with cancer. I just wanted to remind her that she will always be loved. This is done on a 6"x12" canvas with acrylics and paper. I was inspired by the Art Journal Emporium by Tangie Baxter. You can search for the Art Journal Emporium on-line, and you'll find many interesting things. Thanks for looking!

March block of the month

Here is my March block. The fabrics look so much better in real time. They have some shiny gold patterns going through them. This one was a lot of work, mainly because I put the center block together twice; once I did it the wrong way, and then I took it apart and did it the right way. I prefer doing it the right way!
I can't wait to finish my April block. It has a pretty pattern too.
Thanks for looking!

I'm Back and Something new

Okay, I have something for you to see...finally. I have been working on stuff-not my crafts or art, but family stuff. Needless to say, it hasn't been as fun as working on my projects. So, here are a couple of pictures of the quilt top I am working on. It is part of the block of the month club from Crafts Direct in St. Cloud, MN. They have a pretty big store and it is one of my favorite places to visit!

This first one is the January quilt block. It 12 1/2" square. When I was editing the picture I forgot to keep the proportions equal. So, just imagine it is square, thanks!

The second block-above-is, you guessed it!-February. I didn't like it when I saw the pattern, but after I put it together it kinda made it's way into my heart. The fabrics are so beautiful in "real life." That dark purple really sticks out doesn't it?  This is a lot of piecing but I am only working on one block per month so it goes pretty good. I need to get my March block done still. I'll post it in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for looking! I'd appreciate any comments.

A Snowflake Christmas card

I made this simple Christmas card for the Stamping Royalty challenge #205. The challenge is to make a card with Snowflakes. I made it simple and only used one. It didn't come out the way I envisioned it, but it will do. I am going to have to tweek it a little more but I am not feeling well so it will have to wait. Merry Christmas everyone!

One of my Christmas Cards

I made a card for the Case this Sketch challenge, #52. Here is a picture of the sketch below:

I used Stampin' Up!'s new Festive Flurry die and some silver glimmer paper to make the snowflake. I also used the new Photopolymer Christmas stamp set:  Endless Wishes
It is a very cute set! It has a lot of sentiments and some snowflakes. You can find it at Stampin' Up!.com

I'm also entering this in the following challenges:

Fall Goodie Treat Bags

Hi all, I am still here! I've been exploring classes and trying to thoroughly clean my house, and other stuff, so I haven't been doing many projects. I did order this kit from Stampin'Up! though. I filled some cellophane bags with treats for the kids at church. The kit is Simply Created from SU in their holiday catalog. You can order them until January 4, I think. I am not a demonstrator but I work for one. Her name is Dawn Olchefske and she has a blog called DoStamping with Dawn. If you visit her blog tell her I sent ya, thanks!

The packages are really simple to put together and the kit is not expensive. I think it is only $9.95 but the stamp set is extra. (only around 10 bucks too) You could easily just write something on the tags too.
Well, that is my post. I hope you come back again. Thanks! Have a Happy Fall season. (I have a ton of leaves to rake!)
