A Snowflake Christmas card

I made this simple Christmas card for the Stamping Royalty challenge #205. The challenge is to make a card with Snowflakes. I made it simple and only used one. It didn't come out the way I envisioned it, but it will do. I am going to have to tweek it a little more but I am not feeling well so it will have to wait. Merry Christmas everyone!

One of my Christmas Cards

I made a card for the Case this Sketch challenge, #52. Here is a picture of the sketch below:

I used Stampin' Up!'s new Festive Flurry die and some silver glimmer paper to make the snowflake. I also used the new Photopolymer Christmas stamp set:  Endless Wishes
It is a very cute set! It has a lot of sentiments and some snowflakes. You can find it at Stampin' Up!.com

I'm also entering this in the following challenges:

Fall Goodie Treat Bags

Hi all, I am still here! I've been exploring classes and trying to thoroughly clean my house, and other stuff, so I haven't been doing many projects. I did order this kit from Stampin'Up! though. I filled some cellophane bags with treats for the kids at church. The kit is Simply Created from SU in their holiday catalog. You can order them until January 4, I think. I am not a demonstrator but I work for one. Her name is Dawn Olchefske and she has a blog called DoStamping with Dawn. If you visit her blog tell her I sent ya, thanks!

The packages are really simple to put together and the kit is not expensive. I think it is only $9.95 but the stamp set is extra. (only around 10 bucks too) You could easily just write something on the tags too.
Well, that is my post. I hope you come back again. Thanks! Have a Happy Fall season. (I have a ton of leaves to rake!)

Spring Colors

Hi everyone! Back with another birthday card. This one is primarily for the Color Throwdown challenge #257

I love the colors of this one and just had to join in. I made a pretty simple card this time. I used a background stamp and multi-colored it. I then embossed it to give it a shiny appearance and hopefully make the colors more intense. I used a simple birthday banner and topped it off with a button.
Thanks for visiting and come again!

This is my original card-I took the picture without flash (below). I added the pink background to it, (above)  after thinking that it needed more support to stand up and for strength. The white card stock isn't that sturdy.  I could have added any of the colors that I used in the medallion to give it whatever feel I wanted. I think green would have made it a little more masculine.

I am also posting this on the Make It Monday blog challenge #156-Anything Goes

Paper Players Challenge and a Color Challenge

I had so much fun making this card. I really like how it turned out. It is a little -LOT-different for me, but I like it. It is so much fun to explore and create-don't you think?

I made this card for the Paper Players Challenge #160:

And I also combined it with the challenge on the color Q blog:

The colors are so pretty I just had to try to make something with them!
So, what do you think? The colors aren't exact but I think that is okay. It's what I had to work with.

I used Stampin' Up!s Patterned Occasions stamp set. I think it was one of last year's Sale-a-bration sets.
I also used some off white burlap under the striped ribbon.
Thanks for visiting!

The Paper Players challenge #154

Hi all, it is time to play with the Paper Players in their challenge this week. I found them just yesterday and thought I would play along. It is a color challenge this time. Here are the colors that they want you to use:

I haven't been making very many cards lately and I didn't today either, but I made a 6x6 scrapbook page!
I love this picture of my grandson, he does make me smile, all the time.
I've really got to get back into the swing of crafting! It is so fun!

I used my new large scallop punch from Stampin' Up! and my new doily punch from EK that I purchased in a craft store. Then I punched another smaller scallop, stamped my image and punched that out too. I sponged the verse with the baked brown sugar to make it pop a bit. I actually used a card sketch to make the layout. This is pretty flat so it will fit into my page cover real nice and into my 6x6 page album!
Love it!

Thanks for taking a look and please leave a comment if you can, I appreciate it!

Keeping It Simple

I made this card for the Delicious Doodles challenge: White on White (#17) and
for the Sunny Challenges and Creations 080/13 (#5). SC has a sketch challenge which is here:

Both challenges are pretty simple, which is what I like nowadays!

I love the graphic style of this sentiment stamp! I'm glad more companies are coming out with more choices of this style. The ribbon is satin and I twisted and turned it as I stuck it down. Again, thanks for taking a look!

Happy Birthday Poppies

I have been missing this so much! I have finally been able to get some time to create! I had this picture in my head of the colors I wanted to use and I just bought this stamp set. I am not at home while typing this and I can't remember the name of this set but I got it from Gina K. designs and I love it. Not only is the set cute but the quality of the polymer stamps is great!

This is where I tried to shot it at a different angle.

The colors I used are:
SU Summer Starfruit
SU Poppy Red
Black and White

I appreciate your visiting and leaving a comment if possible. I would like to submit this card to the following challenges:
Make It Monday 141-Anything Goes

Wild About You!

It's time for another Twisted Tuesday challenge!!! This time the challenge is to use an animal on your project. The TWIST is to use some flowers.

I know I only have one flower on here but it is a pretty one, right? I didn't think it would look as good with more flowers so I left it as is. That bow is pretty large too. I tried using a narrower ribbon but when I put it with the flower it was too small. I wanted the bow to be bigger than the flower and I guess I did that! You gotta use what you have and this is what I had. Too bad it covers a lot of my pieced background. I like how this turned out. I am going to make some more cards like this with some other printed papers and see what I can come up with. I love the patchwork style, probably because I am also a quilter and this looks like a quilt pattern I might use.

I took this picture in natural light. It really shows how big that bow is! I hope you like it. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment!

Banners and Pearls

I made this card for the current challenge over at Twisted Tuesday. The challenge is to use Banners on your project. The TWIST: use pearls on your creation.

I really love the look of the chalkboard cards that are very popular right now. So, that is the look I am going for with this card.

Birthday cards remind me of fun activities so I used the new set from Stampin' Up! from their Sale-a-bration catalog. I think Ferris Wheels are fun! I remember sitting at the top and rocking the seat, teasing my sister, and making her protest. I was eight and she was nine.

Birthdays also remind me of bright colors so that is what I used.

Here I took a couple of pictures showing how I made my banners. I just used a square punch to make the tails. Easy!

We would love to have you join in our challenge over at  TWISTED TUESDAY CHALLENGES. They go for two weeks so you have a little more time to submit your project. Make a card, scrapbook page or 3D item. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Spring Canvas

Hello, and happy Monday to all. I have finished my first of four seasons' canvases that I am working on. I spent a lot of time working on it and it is finally finished to my satisfaction.

I used many paper flowers here, some ribbons and butterflies.

I also painted and textured some chipboard for my title. I am just in love with pink lately, and all soft colors. I guess I am anxious for spring!
Thanks for taking a look, and I would appreciate any comments! I am also entering this creation in the following challenges:
Sentimental Sundays #145: 3Embellishments that start with the letter B with a sentiment-I have 2 butterflies, and 1 bow.

A Challenge

I have another card challenge for you from Twisted Tuesday challenges. It is make something for spring and the TWIST is to use green.
I thought that I would do something along the lines of St. Patrick's Day. I never get the chance to use these types of stamps that I have in my stash. So, I went and did it, I used my Good Luck stamp and made a four leaf clover. I could probably use this card for a graduation card. Do you have any other suggestions for how or for what occasion I could also use it for?

Come and join us at Twisted Tuesday for this challenge. I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

I would also like to enter this in the following challenges:

As always thanks for visiting! And thanks to my followers!

Teenage Masculine Celebrate card

I thought this would be a great teenage boy Celebrate or Birthday card. I was racking my brain trying to come up with a card design for the Twisted Tuesday challenge this week and decided on this. It's amazing how pressure can make you creative! I needed something quick and something that would work with our challenge theme, which is:

Use a button or brad on your creation this week.
The TWIST- Use paper piercing on your creation

This is also a one layer card with one embellishment which is, of course, the button. Can you see the paper piercing? I paper pierced four stars on here, see if you can find all of them.

I used the stamp set Extreme Elements from Stampin' Up! on this card with a simple primary color theme: red, yellow, and blue!
What do you think? I would love to hear any comments. As always, thanks for visiting!
I also hope you pop on over to Twisted Tuesday Challenges and take part in the challenge. I would love to see what you come up with!

Monday, February 18, 2013

I made this card for the challenge on Sunny Challenges and Creations. They have an easy sketch and they are asking that you use some of your free sale-a-bration products from Stampin'Up! I used the embossing folder I got. I also used a paper rose that I made from instructions from  Stamping Shanni, a blog friend that I discovered. She has beautiful paper roses! I gave it a try but I have to practice more.

This is the sketch:

I also used the Inspiration picture/color theme from Cupcake Inspirations challenge #198. Here it is:

I used my colors from Stampin'Up! since I don't have the brand that they are using here. My colors are
Pool Party, So Saffron, and Wisteria Wonder

A card with Music

This is a One Layer Card. I came across this challenge on Less is More. There are some really lovely cards made with just one layer. I was inspired so I decided to join in on the fun.

The challenge is this:
It's that certain week once more where our challenge is to make a
 One Layer Card
This time we would like you include some reference to
MUSIC

so, I used a stamp set from Stampin' Up! that is retired now, but I haven't used it much, and it fits this theme just wonderfully!

The words say this:
"Where words fail, music speaks"
Hans Christian Andersen

I stamped and embossed with copper embossing powder on Kraft paper. The picture was taken with a flash so it doesn't look like Kraft paper but it is. The first picture is more accurate on the colors. The shiny embossing doesn't show very well either. Oh, some day I'll learn how to fix this! For now, thanks for taking a look!
